When we originally talked about changing the Catholic Connection, we thought we would add some color. As you can tell, this publication is a long way from its roots as the Catholic Connection.
Change is never easy. And believe me, this magazine wasn’t easy either.
Let me tell you a little bit about 360 …
In naming our publication we wanted to document the journey of our alumni from students to benefactors - 360.
Matthew’s gospel tells about the farmer sowing seed – some fell on the path, some fell on rocky ground, some fell on thorns and some fell on rich soil. That’s how we begin our journey of degrees – by sowing seeds that can grow.
Often times we don’t see the growth while students are here – many times we see it as they mature and become alumni. We know that the seeds do grow. Sometimes it’s quick – students get it right away, they understand the awesome love God has for them and how that guides their lives.
Sometimes it’s slow – God’s love for them is elusive for a time.
360 chronicles the achievements of our alumni in life after Lansing Catholic – or St. Mary, Resurrection, Gabriels or O’Rafferty. It chronicles how our alumni make the journey and why they do it. It is also an information resource for the constant changes and events taking place at Lansing Catholic.
After graduation, as we journey away from Lansing Catholic, or our heritage schools, the paths we take are very different. 360 is our attempt to follow the journey of a few and by doing so inspiring more to join the journey.
A journey of degrees is our attempt to chart the progress of our alumni in their pursuits and sharing stories about how Lansing Catholic attributed to their success. It’s our way of watching the seeds that were planted years ago begin to grow and flourish.
We want to know what you think about 360 – a journey of degrees. Send us your feedback, send us your ideas, send us your stories – we want to hear from you!
