We begin and end each school day with prayer. Morning prayer is taken from the daily lectionary or feast day of the liturgical year. Our afternoon prayer is a different traditional prayer each month to expose our students to our rich spiritual heritage.
Mass is celebrated during homeroom on Tuesday and Wednesday, after school on Thursday and Friday. Since we believe receiving the Eucharist helps one become a faithful disciple all of our students attend mass on a weekly basis. Tuesday mass is held in the Auditorium for two grade levels while the other two grade levels are doing Sustained Silent Reading (SSR). Masses on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are in the Chapel.
Our entire school community celebrates mass together on a monthly basis. These masses begin at 8:05 a.m. in the school gymnasium. Parents are always welcome to attend. The dates for these masses are: August 23, September 14, October 4, November 1, December 8, January 16, February 3, February 22, March 19, April 10, May 11 & 24. We will also hold a Holy Thursday Prayer Service on April 5.
In addition, students attend mass while on retreat and we offer First Fridays Eucharistic Adoration in the Chapel.
Students are encouraged to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation at each of our retreats, weekly during lunch periods and twice yearly during Theology class. Our hope is that students will value the grace this sacrament offers enough to receive it regularly at their local parish.
