Ambassadors represent LCHS to parents, students, parishes
and the community. An ambassador’s responsibilities include:
hosts/greeters for Open Houses, assisting with special events at LCHS and hosting prospective student visitors. Students should be willing and able to speak to small and large groups of parents/students, assume leadership roles, foster a sense of belonging and be enthusiastic about LCHS. Please contact Mrs. Murray in the front office for an application.

This committee of students and faculty members represent
the various ministries in the school and work to carry out the spiritual mission of the school.

These students lead the small groups at Freshmen
Orientation and then continue to meet monthly with freshmen and sophomores throughout the year to offer helpful hints about student life, connect with other students, and understand what is going on around LCHS.
Open to: Juniors and seniors by selection only
Meetings: Orientation in August and then monthly meetings during homeroom with your assigned small group.

4-5 students are elected by their peers to represent them
on the Student Senate. Officers meet once a month with their class moderator and attend monthly Senate meetings. Elections will be held within the first few weeks of the start of school. Officers must maintain a “C” average and be willing to model for others what it means to be a leader, a good student, and a good citizen.

Three students lead each of the day retreats for freshmen,
sophomores, and juniors and are responsible for leading a small group, giving a witness talk, and running activities.
Open to: Juniors and seniors who apply, demonstrate faith, and attend the training.
Meetings: Training sessions will be held once each quarter for the various retreats. Seniors lead sophomore and junior retreats, juniors lead the freshmen retreats.

Close Up is a national experiential government studies
program that takes place in Washington, D.C. Students learn first-hand how the political process works and increase their awareness of major national and international issues.
Open to: Juniors only

Students participating in drama club can expect the
opportunity to attend one seminar a month on theatre related content. They also will have the opportunity to attend one to two theatre performances throughout the year.

Meetings: Initial meetings will be brief and will be held after school. Students should expect to pay dues, ticket cost, and seminar fees.

Two musicals are held each year: November and March.
Students are needed as leads, chorus, dancers, and crew (sets, lights, & sound). Cast members practice almost daily and some Saturdays; Fall practices are in the evenings, Spring practices are right after school.

Our focus is on carrying out Pope John Paul II’s call to
increase our devotion to the Eucharist. We do this by promoting daily mass, being Eucharistic ministers or lectors at school liturgies, encouraging Eucharistic adoration, and by planning a school-wide eucharistic devotion in the Spring.

French Club, aka Le Cercle Francais, is a student-run group

God Squad provides students an opportunity for prayer,
Christian fellowship, bible study, and the discussion of Catholic apologetics.

Students gain an awareness of what it is like to be
homeless by sleeping outside in a box, getting a tour of the city, and serving breakfast to the homeless. Pledges are collected for an organization that helps the homeless.

This year our international trip will take you to Greece
over Spring break or to Quebec in June. Experience up close and personal the things and places you’ve studied in class!
Open to: France is for French students, Costa Rica for Spanish students.

Students can take advantage of a variety of sports each
season. A student must have a current physical on file with the AD’s office and be academically eligible to participate in these sports...
Fall Sports: football, volleyball, girl’s tennis, girl’s swimming, girl’s golf, boy’s soccer, sideline cheer, and cross country.
Winter Sports: boy’s basketball, competitive cheer, girl’s basketball, ice hockey, boy’s swimming, and bowling.
Spring Sports: baseball, softball, girl’s soccer, lacrosse, track, boy’s tennis, and boy’s golf.

The Latin club members promote Latin and classical culture
outside of the classroom, take part in the Michigan Junior Classical League activities statewide, and possibly plan international travel.

Students in this club work on math challenge problems and
interesting math puzzles, and play math and logic games. This club is a great way for students who like math to meet other students who share the same interest.

Students use their musical talents to praise God during
Masses and prayer services. People who play instruments as well as singers are needed.

NHS members demonstrate and promote scholarship, service,
character and leadership. Our chapter of the NHS provides tutoring, sets up for all school masses, organizes drives for those in need, and recognizes the contributions of LCHS students and groups.
Open to: Students who maintain a 3.5 GPA for three consecutive semesters and display leadership, character and service to be eligible. These need to be maintained each semester to remain in NHS.

PALs are Peer Assistance Leaders that promote
non-destructive decisions and act as a listening ear to those struggling with issues or choices. PALs are recommended by their peers and teachers.
Open to: Recommended juniors and seniors who complete the required three-day training in the summer

The purpose of the Quiz Bowl and Quiz Busters teams is to
offer trivia lovers a venue to meet and compete against others with similar interests, inside and outside of LCHS. The competitions will challenge students on a broad range of topics from history and mathematics to grammar and current events.
Open to: 10th, 11th, & 12th graders
Meetings: Practice 2-3 times a week after school in Room 116; competitions 1-2 times a week at WKAR

This group meets periodically to learn the fundamentals of robotics and build one to enter in competitions throughout the state. See Mr. Robinson for more information.
These students work with the assistant principal to plan
and evaluate needed emergency procedures. They also make others aware of safety routes and procedures for drills and in cases of emergency.

Show off your talent, or fake it! Put on by the senior
class, this is just a great night of fun watching others do their stuff. Prizes are awarded to the best acts. Listen to announcements for when auditions will be held.

Sisters women's group is a faith based support and service organization for junior and senior female students.

We organize several trips to Cannonsburg, Michigan for some
great skiing and snowboarding. Several packages are offered for lift tickets and rentals. Parent chaperones are needed. After students sign up to be included in the club, then sign up on a trip-by-trip basis. Students need not go on every trip.

a classic play in the quaint little town of Stratford. Transportation, lunch and your admission ticket are included in the cost for the day. Students can reserve their spot for this trip in the Spring of their junior year.

This committee works with the school Development staff in
an advisory and leadership capacity to develop, organize, promote and successfully complete a student-run fundraiser to benefit our high school.

This is the student governing body of all student clubs. It
is made up of an executive council, class officers, and representatives of each student organization. It represents the student body, promotes student life, and works with the administration in furthering the mission of the school. Executive council members are elected in the Spring.

SFL’s goal is to create awareness of the right to life for
all people which includes upholding the dignity of everyone. While not their only aim, there is a focus on the unborn child and SFL raises money for Shared Pregnancy and other alternative organizations.

This social justice retreat takes place in the inner city
of Chicago giving students a chance to practice their faith like Jesus did---with those most in need.

meet in October to begin planning the April 24 work-a-thon. Duties include getting sponsors, arranging work teams and sites, and other details.

government and then attend two conferences to become acting state legislators, lobbyists, lawyers, committee chairs, etc. simulating all phases and positions that the actual state government calls for..
