Retreats

Day Retreats for Freshmen & Sophomores
Freshmen and sophomores all go on a day-long retreat with their homeroom. These are held out at Bethany House or the St. Francis Retreat Center in DeWitt. These retreats are led by older students and help students focus on where they are at with God through a mix of prayer, games, witness talks, and discussions. Each retreat includes Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Juniors and seniors who wish to be leaders should see Mr. Moore.

Junior Discernment Retreats
As juniors prepare to finish high school and think about colleges and careers it is a great time to reflect on who God is calling them to be. These overnight discernment retreats are held out at Bethany House  in DeWitt. These retreats are led by older students and help students focus on developing skills to know God's will on a daily basis as well as how to be open to  where the Holy Spirit is leading them vocationally. Each retreat includes Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Four dates are available: September 25-26, October 23-24, February 12-13, and February 26-27. All juniors must attend one of the retreats and they are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Mr. Moore at 267-2115 for more information. A letter to parents explaining the retreat as well as flier to sign up are available here.

Kairos Retreat & Flint Immersion
Being held only once this year, this three-and-a-half day retreat for seniors and juniors go more in depth at one’s relationship with God, self, and others. Dates for this school year are November 20-23, 2011. Forms are available from the Campus Ministry Office or Mr. Spitzley six weeks prior to the retreat. The team for this retreat is made up of staff and students from Lansing Catholic. Seniors not attending Kairos will be going on the Flint Immersion Retreat which helps student put their faith into action by serving God's people and prayer. Dates are November 21-22, 2011.

Senior Morning of Reflection
You've spent four years at Lansing Catholic learning about your faith and soon you'll be off to college. How do you remain strong in your faith and share it with others?. This is for the entire senior class on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Students will return to school that day in time for noon dismissal.

Urban Plunge Retreat
This retreat is held in conjunction with the Darst Center out of Chicago. The weekend is spent serving the least among us just as Jesus did, we’ll just be doing so in Chicago. Much of this weekend is focused on how we can live out the Gospel in very concrete ways through social justice. This is held February 10-13, 2012. Forms will be available by December 1. This retreat is limited to the first 12 seniors that sign up.

Seventh Grade Retreats
During Catholic Schools Week we sponsor two day retreats for students in our area partner schools. Juniors and seniors are needed as small group leaders for these retreats. If interested, see Mr. Moore; students must be able to miss a day of school and faith must be an evident priority in your life.
