  • To provide students with an opportunity to be successful, in order to gain confidence in their mathematical ability

Daily Materials:  Text, writing utensil, class spiral notebook with paper perforations, 1 ½ inch three ring binder and calculator.

Grades:  Total points acquired divided by the total points possible.  Points are earned for tests, daily assignments, quizzes, weekly projects, papers and daily preparation questions.

Quizzes: Both announced and unannounced quizzes will be given on a weekly basis.

Tests:  Tests will be announced one week prior to each test and are not limited to chapter tests.  There will be a test objectives/review sheet supplied to students to help them prepare for each test.  Students are required to show their calculations for the problems to receive full credit.

Projects:  Projects will be assigned on the Monday of most five day school weeks and will be due at the beginning of the hour on Fridays. NO late assignments will be accepted.

Re-take Policy:  Any test score below a 65% may be retaken to raise the grade up to a 65%, but must be re-taken within two weeks from when the original test was given back.

Extra Credit: Students may earn extra credit by arranging an adult speaker to address the class about how the math concepts we are learning are applied to their careers.

Classroom Policies:

*Students are required to bring all daily materials outlined above, including a calculator, to complete  each  daily assignment  and will receive a zero for any assignment that cannot be completed for lack of materials.

*Any student removed from the class for behavioral issues and cannot complete the daily assignment will receive a zero for that assignment.

*Any student not in their seat when attendance is taken will receive a tardy for the day.

*No late assignments will be accepted except for illness.

*Students must stay in their seats at all times during the class unless otherwise told.

Absences:  A student is responsible for collecting his/her assignments ahead of time when it is known that they will be absent from the class, or the next day when ill.  In the event of a sick day or a lengthy absence, due dates for assignments will adjust according to school procedure.  Feel free to email me to obtain an assignment when absent for the day.
